Where to get on board for a sailing holiday on the Wadden Sea
Klipper Waterwolf sails for the occasion from Harlingen for this sailing holiday. On Monday morning the crew is expecting you in the harbour. If you have to come from far away or if you don’t want to get out of bed very early, you can choose to come aboard on Sunday evening. When everyone is there, we divide the cabins and for the real sailing fanatics there is an explanation about sailing on board our sailing ships. After which we’ll leave!
What to expect on board during a sailing trip
This summer holiday in the Netherlands is all-inclusive, which means that we will pamper you for a week. Every day starts with an extensive breakfast buffet, a tasty lunch and in the evening you can expect a two course menu, throughout the day we provide our guests with tasty snacks and make sure you don’t lack anything. Everything is prepared with fresh and local produce in the open kitchen below deck. If you like cooking more than sailing, you are more than welcome to lend a hand. Are you better at shaking cocktails? Then you are also welcome behind the bar, which is open every night.
During a sailing holiday aboard flat-bottomed ship the Waterwolf, you can completely decide for yourself, what you want to do. Of course there are plenty of sportive tasks on deck, but most of all, make your own Slow Travel experience out of it.
There’s plenty of place to retreat with a good book from our onboard library or keep your blog up to date in the saloon. If you’d like to visit one of the five Wadden islands, you’re in the right spot on board this sailing trip.
A sailing holiday with children
For children there is much to discover on a sailing holiday. There are many tasks on board. Help hoist the sails, learn how to navigate or steer the ship yourself. How about borrowing the skipper’s binoculars and spotting some of the 10,000 seals that live in the Wadden Sea, for example.
But also catching crabs, building huts, or playing one of the many boardgames we have on board. Once in a harbour wherever you are, you can visit museums, fly kites, enjoy the dunes and do treasure hunts.
A week’s relaxing on board an antique sailing yacht
No matter how you spend your week getting a breath of fresh air, whether you come along for the nicest beaches, the best surf spots or the most special yoga spots. After a week of wandering around the Wadden Sea, you are at least 2 kilos heavier and drag a trunk full of experiences and stories home with you!
