Last minute weekend getaway on a sailing ship in the Netherlands
Finally a weekend to get some fresh air? You can and even in the short term! Book your cabin and sail along on a sailing trip on the IJsselmeer and the Markermeer on board antique sailing ship the Waterwolf. From 26 to 28 June 2020, we will cast off again fromthe port of Enkhuizen.
What to expect on board during a weekend sailing trip
Board on Friday evening, where you will be expected and welcomed by the skipper and crew. Together with a select travel company we toast to a beautiful sailing trip and discuss the plan for the weekend.
On Saturday morning, after an excellent breakfast, it is time to throw off the mooring lines and hoist the sails together under the guidance of the experienced crew.
If you’re not so keen on this, move to the rear deck for a chat with the skipper or help navigate. Even if your big dream is to steer a ship of 36 meters yourself, you can just ask, chances are you can be a helmsman for a while.
Which harbours do we visit during a sailing trip on the IJsselmeer?
Where we moor and which ports we visit depends entirely on what you feel like. But also how the weather is and where the wind blows. If you have a preference for one of the ten nicest port cities around the IJsselmeer, we will be happy to take you there. If you have no idea at all or don’t care, let yourself be surprised and carried away by the wind in the sails.
In the evening, dinner is served on board and the bar is open. Depending on where we moor, you can visit the harbour town and grab a terrace, linger on board near the tap or read a book or watch a movie undisturbed. Above all, do what you feel like, anything is possible. Book a weekend on board the flat-bottomed Waterwolf, completely taken care of on a full board basis and enjoy a weekend of Slow Travel in the Netherlands.
